Q    What do you do?
A    Steve Williams CPA, International Tax Consultant
International Tax Consulting. Very few CPAs have a background in international tax. In the Dallas / Fort Worth area those that have such a background generally work for one of the big-four accounting firms or in industry. I work with CPAs, corporate attorneys, and other professional service providers to assist with their client's multinational needs. A typical project might involve consulting on the U.S. tax consequences of cross-border transactions, coordinating with foreign tax advisors on the global tax consequences of a contemplated structure, or reviewing tax returns with international issues.

Transfer Pricing. I do transfer pricing work in conjunction with economists at large, reputable firms. Assistance with transfer pricing is a popular service as our fee is usually much less than what a big firm would charge and the report is customized.

Import / Export Consulting. As a result of years of experience serving multinational companies I have a background and awareness of many of the fundamental issues importers & exporters need to deal with. I have relationships with respected customs brokers, freight-forwarders, international bankers, trade attorneys, and cross-culture consultants that can be involved when a client's import / export needs require specialized advice.

Foreign Marketing & Partner Search. Working with consultants, the U.S. Commerce Department, and / or networks of international accounting & law firms I can assist businesses research the marketing potential of selling or sourcing their products abroad as well as locating potential foreign partners. Significant incentives may be available to U.S. companies that export.

Commercial Dispute Resolution. I have been engaged by lawyers to assist on the financial & tax aspects of resolving commercial disputes. When such disputes involve a multinational or alien individual I am uniquely qualified to make a valuable contribution.
